About The Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will support participants to achieve their individual goals, enhance daily living skills & actively participate in their communities. This role involves working collaboratively with participants, families & the broader support team to deliver high-quality, respectful care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support in line with individual support plans
- Assist with daily living activities(personal care, meal preparation, domestic tasks)
- Support community access, social inclusion & skill development
- Promote participants’ choice, control, dignity & independence
- Maintain accurate documentation & progress notes
- Uphold NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding & duty of care
- Work respectfully with people from diverse cultural & social backgrounds
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or related field(or willingness to obtain)
- Experience supporting people with disability(preferred but not essential)
- Understanding of person-centred & strengths-based practice
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- NDIS Worker Screening Check(or willingness to obtain)
- Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR(or willingness to obtain)
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence & reliable vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with complex needs and/or behaviours of concern
- Knowledge of trauma-informed & culturally safe practice
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team
- Flexible availability (including weekends & active nights)
